Fire Evacuates Tenants at Secatogue Apartments Complex
According to Assistant Chief Skip Schumeyer, heavy smoke was showing from the first and second floors of building #7. None of the residents sustained any injuries; however, one police officer was taken to New Island Hospital for smoke inhalation.

Village Board Meeting Gets Down to Business
Mayor George Graf opened the Dec. 14 Village of Farmingdale board meeting a little differently. In an effort to encourage more community involvement with the village government, Mayor Graf asked those present if they had any inquiries about items on the agenda from the previous board meeting.

Runners Edge Raffle Raises $1,500 to Help Fight ALS
On Sunday, Dec. 12, members of the Long Island running community gathered at The Runner's Edge in Farmingdale to honor the memory of their friend Eunice Harris, who died of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) on Sept. 30, for the drawing in a giant raffle to help raise funds to combat the disease that took Eunice away from us. A total of over $1,500 was raised.

The Farmingdale Swim Club (FSC) is having registration for its second session on Jan. 19, 2005, between the hours of 7-9 p.m., in the pool lobby of Farmingdale High School. Please bring your child in a swimsuit, ready to swim. Our goal is to place them in the appropriate program.
