As the 2004 Cheerleading season comes to an end, the Hawks would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents for their patience and understanding during a very hectic season; the team mothers for the countless hours of dedication you gave to the team in the gym, at games, during competitions, and all the phone calls and memos they had to endure from me regarding sneakers, bodysuits, ribbons (high ponytails only), just to mention a few. I could not have done without all of you.

To the coaching staff, thanks for the time, talent and sacrifice you make to the team on a daily basis. Their commitment and professionalism was beyond reproach and this was apparent by the great sportsmanship exhibited by your girls this year.

A special thanks to the Farmingdale Midget Football - Board of Directors for all their support as well as the football players and coaches. It was very encouraging for the girls to see board members and coaches at the NSCA Competition on Nov. 1 and the PEP Rally on Nov. 17. Thanks to Judy for coming over to the PEP Rally. Thanks to Stacey for all her help during the season, the fundraising is officially over, the last of the sweatshirts have been distributed.

In October, the Hawks Cheerleaders hosted their first Annual Fall Auction at Stuart Thomas Manor to raise money for expenses incurred by the Cheerleaders during the year. This venture proved to be a huge success. Special thanks goes to Fran Warmingham, chairperson, and her committee for an outstanding job, and all those who made donations to the auction.

Results of the NSCA Competition are as follows:

Seniors - Second Place Dance

12 - Second Place Cheer/Second Place Dance

11 - Third Place Cheer/Second Place Dance

10 - First Place Cheer/First Place Dance

9 - First Place Cheer

The recipient of the 2004 NSCA Spirit Award was Brittany Alfarano - Seniors.

Last, but not least, thanks to the Farmingdale Hawks Cheerleaders for the outstanding job the girls did this year. The girls worked hard but their dedication and support of their teams and the pride they display for their town is obvious.

Lots of good luck to the Farmingdale Hawks All-Star Cheerleaders as their season is just beginning. The girls will be competing mid-January in New Jersey and February in Baltimore.
