Bond Referendum Defeated by Stunning Margin
The Nov. 23 bond referendum was defeated by the voters of the Farmingdale School District by an enormous margin. Opponents voted against the bond referendum 1,775 to 592.

The Eve Foundation Fights Domestic Violence
Eighty domestic violence incidents are reported each day in Suffolk County, according to the Suffolk County Police department. The Eve Foundation is a local organization, based in Farmingdale, working to assist these victims of domestic violence and also to raise awareness.

11-year-old Hawks Conclude Successful Season
The 11-year-old Hawks finished the regular season in third place with a record of 6-2. Their only losses to Massapequa 6-0, and Elmont 8-7 came after hard fought games, where their opponent scored the winning points with only seconds left to play. This put them in position to advance to the playoffs against second place Elmont. In a nail biting match, the score see sawed the whole game with the final deciding touchdown run in by Farmingdale in the last minute of play. The boys and fans were ecstatic. For the third year in a row, they would meet up with their biggest rival, Massapequa, in the Championship game.

As the 2004 Cheerleading season comes to an end, the Hawks would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents for their patience and understanding during a very hectic season; the team mothers for the countless hours of dedication you gave to the team in the gym, at games, during competitions, and all the phone calls and memos they had to endure from me regarding sneakers, bodysuits, ribbons (high ponytails only), just to mention a few. I could not have done without all of you.
