The Hawks 8-year-olds kicked off the season with two big wins. The boys came out to play hard and do their best. In week one, which began Sept. 12 against Hicksville, the offense scored four touchdowns and the defense held Hicksville to only one touchdown for a final score of Hawks 28, Hicksville 6.

In week two, on Sept. 19 against a good Garden City team, the Hawks won a real nail-biter. They came together with a strong defensive line, holding Garden City to two touchdowns and no extra points. With the strong offensive line making two touchdowns and one extra point, the final score was Hawks 13, Garden City 12.

The boys did a great job with the help of the following 8-year-old boys: Thomas Ammirati, Brandon Boyle, Henry Cabanilla, Kyle Cendroski, Erick Cheshire, Brendan Gruener, Brian Guarnieri, Justin Henry, Michael Herrscher, Curtis Jenkins, Daniel Jones, Ryan Jones, Thomas Kennedy, Joe Lee, Nicholas Lynch, Andrew Oppedisano, Vincent Quinn, Dylan Smith, Kevin Vandermark and Timmy Zehenter.

The boys played great games and are now getting ready for their Sunday, Oct. 4 game against Baldwin at Baldwin beginning at 11 a.m. The 8-year-olds want to thank the parents, grandparents, cheerleaders and all their other fans for coming out and rooting them onto victory.
