Farmingdale Remembers, Unveils 9/11 Monuments
The Farmingdale Community Summit Council unveiled two new auxiliary monuments for the Farmingdale Remembers 9/11 monument at the Farmingdale Public Library on Sept. 9. The Farmingdale Remembers 9/11 monument was erected last year by the Summit as a means to memorialize the emotions and loss experienced after the events of September 11, 2001 and to recognize "the coming together of our community" during the difficult period.

EPA Holds Informational Meeting on Liberty Site
Dozens of Farmingdale residents packed the auditorium of the Farmingdale Public Library on Tuesday, Sept. 14 to obtain information about the progress and upcoming cleanup activities planned for the Liberty Site.

Over the Hill Report
The second week of the annual OTH Charity Tournament had some surprises to say the least. The first upset was #10 seed Changing Times overcoming Synergy (#4) Tuesday night. CT appears to be peaking at the right time as they played Mers real tough the previous week only to lose on a late HR. In this game, Synergy's entire line-up each had a hit but was unable to get them when it counted most. Their big blast was Bill Fitzpatrick's long HR when Synergy was fighting to get back into the game. Bill had two hits for the night along with Joe Lutz and "Tall" Mike Maier. Tommy Vanasco had three hits including a long triple.

Hawks Win Two in a Row
The Hawks 8-year-olds kicked off the season with two big wins. The boys came out to play hard and do their best. In week one, which began Sept. 12 against Hicksville, the offense scored four touchdowns and the defense held Hicksville to only one touchdown for a final score of Hawks 28, Hicksville 6.
