Anthony Sciuto, 74, of Boynton Beach, FL, died peacefully after a brief illness on June 28, 2004. Born in NYC, he and his wife, Lai-Ping, have lived in Florida since 1996, after retiring from a long and successful 43-year career with the ILGWU. From 1953 to 1996 he worked with the ILGWU in various capacities, ranging from a business agent, organizer, assistance manager of Local 23-25, manager of Local 62-32 and achieved the honored position of vice president of the union. Anthony loved to take long road trips, especially to visit his family in Atlanta, GA. He was an active member of his community of Lakes of Westchester Bowling League, an avid reader, and a much devoted NY Yankee fan. His favorite hobby was playing pinochle card games. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Palma Sciuto, and two brothers, Joseph and Peter. Tony is survived by his wife, Lai-Ping, and his daughters, Palma Young (Michael) of Villa Rica, GA, Nancy Cameron (Ted) of Waldwick, NJ, and Annette D'Ercole (Anthony) of Acworth, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Stephen and Jennifer Young, Leeann Cameron, Ashley and Lindsey D'Ercole. He cherished his children and enjoyed his grandchildren and will be missed by all. Anthony was respected by all those who came to know him for his dignified and quiet manner. Arrangements were made by the Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. James RC Church. Donations may be sent in Anthony's memory to the Children's Digestive Health Care Foundation of Atlanta, for Crohn's Research in honor of his granddaughter, Lindsey, in hopes that someday a cure can be found for IBD. Massapequa, died in a tragic automobile accident on June 30, 2004. Wife for 47 years of Clyde J. Mother of James, Barbara, Ricky and Joseph. Grandmother of Michael, Stephanie and Stephen. Husband of the late Gertrude. Father and father-in-law of Ann and Charles Boppe, John Carrig and Elizabeth Coveney, the late Peter, Thomas, Ellen Carrig, George (Christine), the late Mary, Patricia and Thomas Fesolowich and James and Eileen. Grandfather of Dr. Brian McNulty, Audrey Gallo and Iris Kline. Great-grandfather of Amanda, Brianna, Maggie, Raymond, Kristina, Katie and Patrick. Interment St. Charles Cemetery. Alexander N. Meleshka, of Farmingdale, died on July 5, 2004. A veteran, POW, he received two Purple Hearts, was a Bronze Star recipient and many other medals and citations. He was a member of Farmingdale VFW Post #516, Wantagh American Legion and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association. Husband of Jeanne. Father of Anita M. Cody and Lydia Havas.
