Well someone finally stopped Singletons run! Only it was "Mother Nature" herself who put the brakes on Big Red's impressive run (10 game winning streak) as four of six scheduled games were rained out. Both 7:00 games were completed, although abbreviated, as the rains only abated enough to get enough innings in to make them official. With the rain falling steadily and the fields getting sloppy, the league wisely called off the balance of the schedule. In a game called after 5, Bar Boy bounced back from their two game losing streak to beat Changing Times to go to 6-4-1 (no highlights provided). In the other contest, Barco's bats erupted as they downed M&T 22-3, which was called after 7. M&T held a 3-2 lead after 3 when the rain and runs came as Barco scored 12 in the 4th to take a 14-2 lead. In the weekly Kevin Moloney/Dave Ringer highlight article, with this week being no exception, Kevin went 4-4 with 5 RBIs as he continues to smoke the ball, hitting at a .840 clip (21-25) for his last six games (mostly extra base hits). The only surprise this game was that Kevin actually stopped at first base, which with Dave Ringer hitting behind him, it's no surprise he doesn't stop. Dave went 3-4 with 4 RBIs on 2 doubles and a triple, and to Kevin's relief, no screamers down toward first. With 22 runs scored there were many who contributed as indicated by the RBIs being spread among 13 guys. Individually Bill White added 3 RBIs on 2-3 and a sac fly, Terry McPartland was 3-4 w/ 2 RBIs and Gary Jambor went 3-3. On a special note, it was great to see Tom Burke back in uniform and on the field again (out due to surgery). Not only did he smack the ball hard, he made two sparkling catches out in right. Welcome Back Tom! Now Terry (and Ace) has someone else to pick on. By the way "K Klub" member, rookie Dave Saur, demonstrated he was the true team player. He unselfishly ended the 12 run rally by hitting into the inning ending DP just so we could get the game in (by the way, why were you running so hard?). See Dave, I even spelled it right this time.

The OTH schedule resumes July 9th; hope everyone has a great and safe 4th.
