Lena Nilsson (nee Schultz) died at the United Presbyterian Residence on April 26, 2004. She was a longtime resident of Bethpage. Her husband, Nils, died in 1971. She was the mother of Lillian Kunzig, the late Karl Nilsson, Nils Nilsson and Olga Kowalski. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Her three brothers predeceased her. Arrangements were made by the Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Religious service with Pastor Mario Ancira presiding. Interment Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Katherine F. D'Aloisio (nee Adams), of S. Farmingdale, died on April 30, 2004. She was predeceased in 1985 by her husband Edmond. Mother of Edmund and Kathleen. Grandmother of four. James T. Bianchi Sr., of Farmingdale, died unexpectedly at the age of 65, on May 1, 2004. He was a US Air Force veteran and retired 35-year US Postal Service employee. He was a US Naval Reservist. Adele Helen Amend (nee Behnke) passed away on May 7, 2004. She was a 58-year resident of Farmingdale. During the 1950s, she was active in Home Bureau, now known as Cornell Cooperative Extension, where she taught sewing and tailoring. She was also a Girl Scout leader and assistant Sunday School Superintendent at the Farmingdale United Methodist Church. In 1961 she started working for Farmingdale Public Schools as a secretary in the main office. During her almost 25 years, she worked at Weldon E. Howitt High School, Northside School, Main Street School and Woodward Parkway Elementary School. She was an active member of the Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society and held many different positions. Adele was also a member of the Farmingdale Women's Club. She was predeceased by her husband Maurice and is survived by her daughters, Lynne Keenan and Holly Benze (David) and granddaughters, Laura Keenan and Karen Benze.
