Candidates For Farmingdale Library Board
Jorgensen, a 64-year resident of the Farmingdale School District, has been a member of the board of trustees since 1989. A retired hospital administrator, his services included residency at Bellevue Hospital; opening New Harlem Hospital as its CEO; making major improvements in the emergency medical service (EMS); and key administrator in the completion and opening of University Hospital at Stony Brook.

Three Dalers Inducted into FHS Wall of Fame
Who says good deeds go unnoticed these days? One past and two current residents were inducted into the Farmingdale High School Wall of Fame on May 3 for their community service, contribution to society and overall dedication to making the world a better place.

The Place Is Back May 21
In 1999, Howitt Middle School won a grant to help create The Place, a multi-recreational evening activity offering members the opportunity to play team sports in the gym. At that time, The Place was offered to seventh and eighth grade students at Howitt. Participants enjoyed a variety of sports, including dodgeball, whiffleball, soccer, basketball and others. The cafeteria was also open to members at The Place to socialize with friends, listen to music, dance and play board games. On some nights, classrooms were converted into movie rooms to watch videos and debate a topic. Craft rooms were available to members to work on various projects. There were also special events planned, such as theme nights, talent show and dances with a DJ. Active trips were also held.

Farmingdale PAL Presents Inaugural Season of NFL Flag Football
NFL Flag Football has been created to help boys and girls become part of a well-organized national program, emphasizing football education, participation and sportsmanship. NFL Flag Football in a non-contact league for boys and girls who will be in grades kindergarten through eight in September of this year. There is no blocking, tackling, pushing or any rough activity permitted.
