Farmingdale Schools Hosts First Public Hearing on Budget
The Farmingdale School District Board of Education held its first public input meeting earlier this month regarding the proposed budget for the 2004-2005 school year. At the meeting, residents were given the opportunity to discuss the components of the budget and its expenditures. This was the first of two public meetings to be held regarding the school budget.

Will Seven Be Golden Lions Luck Number at Sports Festival?
The Columbus Lodge #2143 (CL) announce the Golden Lions will return for a seventh appearance at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island's 10th Annual Business Cares for Kids Sports Festival, which will be held at Cantiague Park in Hicksville on May 22nd. The Golden Lions will participate in the 16-team co-ed softball tournament. Each year, teams from Nassau and Suffolk Counties gather for a day of fun and to participate in the largest charity softball tournament on Long Island. The four round event features both competitive co-ed teams and co-ed teams just looking to help raise money for a worthy cause. The teams that lose in the opening round are invited to participate in a conciliation round.

Farmingdale Baseball Officially Opens Season
The Farmingdale Baseball League (FBLI) officially opened its 54th season of baseball in the community with its opening day parade and ceremony on Sunday. This year, the league honored Superintendent of Farmingdale Schools Dr. Roberta A. Gerold as grand marshal, for her and the whole district's support of the league. She was described as a Úquot;true friend of Farmingdale Baseball.Úquot;
