Sylvia Claase Named Trailblazer of the New Millennium
Farmingdale resident Sylvia Claase was one of 19 honorees who were recognized for service to their communities at the Nassau County Legislature's "Women: Trailblazers of the New Millennium" awards. Claase was nominated by Legislator Dave Mejias and was honored at an awards presentation held March 22.

Local Residents First Two Women Finishers in 15K Run
Nearly 800 runners and walkers successfully completed the 7th annual edition of the Lazer, Aptheker, Rosella & Yedid Kings Park 15 Kilometer Run on the morning of March 21, and when the dust had settled at the W.T. Rogers Middle School finish line on Old Dock Road in Kings Park, the overall women's winner was 25-year-old Trisha Fasini of Massapequa, and the second woman across the line was Donna McMahon of Farmingdale. Fasini crossed the finish line in 1 hour, 1 minute, 31 seconds, and McMahon was exactly thirty seconds behind her in 1:02:01.

Columbus Lodge Charity Golf Outing Set for May 4
The Sons of Italy-Columbus Lodge #2143 Golf Committee recently announced that the eighth annual Columbus Lodge Charity Golf Outing (CLGO) will be held on Tuesday, May 4 at the Bethpage Golf Course, home of the 2004 Long Island Classic and the 2002 US Open.
