Serving as the mayor of the Incorporated Village of Farmingdale for the past 12 years has been an honor and a privilege, and truly one of the highlights of my life. The many people I have worked with throughout my tenure are like family to me and will continue to hold a special place in my life. Together we were able to accomplish so much that I am proud of: increased home values, an overhauled infrastructure and a rejuvenated downtown just to name a few.

Twelve years ago one of my first objectives was to organize and put into action a team of volunteers to enhance and supplement the services offered by village government. My heartfelt thanks and gratitude goes out to each and every one of you who served and continues to do so. I applaud the fire chiefs, officers and members that selflessly served our village fire department and our citizens. There are no words to explain how much you have meant to me. In addition, my hat is off to all the administrative volunteers who have served on our planning and zoning boards with Owen Drugan and Joe Schweitzer at the helm. Finally, the person who deserves the most beautiful accolades for the outstanding beautification of our charming village is Sylvia Classe, who for most of my term headed our volunteer beautification committee. Sylvia put her heart, soul, as well as her hands and feet, into the beautification of this village and I defy anyone to say her efforts went unnoticed. Now my friend, Karen Benson, has taken over as chairman and continues to keep up Sylvia's standards. I know we all wish Karen well as she continues to improve and beautify our village.

So friends, after a long and prosperous run, it is now time for others to take over the reigns. I promise the citizens of the Village of Farmingdale that there will be a smooth transition between administrations. My home, my business and my heart will always be here in Farmingdale. I hope that you will continue to call me your friend and stop by and say hello whenever possible.
