The Farmingdale Titans recently announced their newest football program for 5- and 6-year-old boys and cheerleading for girls in first and second grade.

According to Titans President Bob Thompson, "The purpose of the new division is to provide an opportunity for these children to experience youth football, learn the basic skills and familiarize them with team play." These youngsters will have a lighter schedule with more emphasis on learning the game and basic cheers in an entirely fun environment. The league, understanding that this is a delicate age where children may change their minds about playing/cheering, has reduced their fees for this new division. The $45 fee (plus raffle tickets) covers all uniform and equipment costs. The Titans are entering their fourth year of providing youth football and cheering programs. Children 5 years old to 14 years old are eligible for football and children from first through ninth grade (as of Sept. 1, 2004) are eligible for cheerleading.

Registration dates are Friday, March 12 from 7 to 9 p.m.; Saturday, March 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Friday, March 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Allen Park on Motor Avenue in Farmingdale. For more information, call the Titans at 777-3700.
