Our registration went exceptionally well this past weekend. Not to worry if you didn't make it, the next set of registration dates will be held April 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. and April 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Allen Park. Mark your calendars for these very important dates. We are looking forward to seeing you there.

We hope to educate the community of Farmingdale and its neighbors each week with a little information about "What the Farmingdale Hawks have worked so hard over the last 40+ years to accomplish." We hope you all enjoy what we put together each week.

First we are happy to welcome all new and returning players and parents to this coming year's football season. We are hopeful that this will be one of the most exciting and rewarding football seasons you've ever experienced.

Our goal is to develop well-rounded young men and women who learn not only the fundamentals of football and cheerleading, but also the importance of education, in an atmosphere conductive to developing sound mind, body and character - and having a good time along the way. We practice the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship and physical fitness. Our program stresses learning lessons of value far beyond the playing days, such as, self-discipline, teamwork, concentration, friendship, leadership, and good sportsmanship.

We do our very best to ensure that each player is utilized to his utmost potential and their talents are used for the team's best advantage.

Safety is our top concern. Many of the exercises, drills, and team rules are there to ensure your child is physically and mentally fit for football and cheerleading.

Each child is unique and develops at their own pace. We will exercise their bodies and minds in an effort to develop the skills needed to execute the game of football and cheerleading.

The Farmingdale Hawks have an open mind and encourage all new ideas and suggestions. This is what makes us better then other youth football programs in Farmingdale. We recommend you get involved in the organization by becoming a member. Our monthly membership meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month. Check out our website www.farmingdalehawks.org or e-mail us at gohawks@optonline.net. Next week we'll talk about the kind of rewards that can be received while being involved with the Farmingdale Hawks. In weeks to come we'll touch base on traits of a good football player, disciplinary actions, coaches and their staff, practices, home conditions and most important team rules. Hope you return for our future articles.
