On behalf of the Snyder family and all of Bobby's loved ones, we would like to express our most heartfelt thanks to all those who came to our aid during this time of tragedy and devastation.
First of all, to the firefighters, police officers and EMT workers ... It is so difficult to even find enough words to thank complete strangers who risked their lives to save the lives of others. We know that you did everything possible to try and save Bobby. Thank God everyone else in the fire escaped with their lives, thanks to the heroic efforts of Nelson and George from Nelson's Grocery. Also another special thanks to the owners of Nelson's Grocery, who provided us with a place to warm up as well as refreshments the night of the fire.
To the Red Cross who gave us kind words and advice, as well as generous contributions to help the survivors start over. Thank you to St. Kilians Parish who provided us with a place of solace when our hearts were heavy. A particularly special thanks to Father Todd who gave Bobby his last rites and comforted our family in our home that evening. Father your prayers at the wake were beautiful. You are a breath of fresh air to the Catholic Church. Also to the Outreach Program at St. Kilians who donated clothing and food, thank you.
To our parish of Our Lady of Lourdes for a lovely funeral mass and a very special thanks to Father Augustine who is not just a priest, but a very dear friend of our family. Your wisdom and faith have been a guiding force of our family for many years and to Father Mason, our pastor, for his help and sympathetic words.
A very special thanks to Munchkinland and the Hardscrabble Girl Scouts who raised money, as well as donated clothes, food and toys to our Amanda. It is hard enough for adults to grieve and find strength during a time like this and it is even more difficult for an 8-year-old child. Thank you for doing everything that you have done to try and make this time a little easier for an innocent child.
Last, but certainly not least, to this wonderful community - thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. The outpouring of food, clothing, flowers and donations are almost overwhelming, but appreciated more than words alone can say. We could not have made it through this tragedy without the help and generosity of everyone. The kindness and prayers of everyone will not be forgotten by this family.
With sincere thanks,
The Snyder Family
