    Upon receiving a letter that a local teenager was in need of a new tricycle, the Knights of Columbus, Council 2204, felt they needed to do what they've always done - help those in need. For 14-year-old Thomas Roedig, a new tricycle meant more than owning a piece of athletic equipment, it also signified independence. FULL STORY

    Massapequan William Funk is the Democratic candidate in the upcoming election for the 12th Assembly District. Funk seeks to fill the seat of former Assemblyman Steve Labriola, which was vacated at the beginning of January.     Over the past year the Columbus Lodge #2143 Golden Lions softball team have had more than their share of success on the field; last year winning a second consecutive AFSC title and their first QBC title at the NYC Mayor's Cup.     ... And so started the second heat of the 500 in the preliminary swims of the Nassau County Boys High School Swimming Championships on Feb. 12. Through 100 yards, the field was still tight, with Farmingdale senior Sal Risi seemingly on pace for another personal best time in Lane 8.
