The Farmingdale State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has been working for the past four years with the Toys of Hope Charity of Huntington. Throughout the year, Toys of Hope delivers toys, books, clothes and other items to families and children in the Long Island area. The charity is directed by Melissa Doktofsky and is a volunteer-based organization, where 100 percent of all donations go directly toward helping needy children.

During the holiday season, Toys of Hope holds many holiday parties, including the annual Christmas Party at Oheka Castle in Cold Springs Harbor, NY. The student-athletes at Farmingdale State collected toys and monetary donations around campus and had the opportunity to attend the Oheka Castle function. This function was held for children ages 3 to 6 who were from various Long Island locations and gave them the chance to sing, dance, get their face painted, see Santa and receive presents. All the student-athletes enjoyed helping with this charity and are excited to continue the support of Toys of Hope in the future.
