Geza Feld of Farmingdale was a very relaxed donor - proving once again that donating blood is an easy thing to do.

With well over 150 people showing up to donate, the Dec. 27 Athletes for Life Blood Drive was one of the most successful ever. Members of the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC), Massapequa Park Bike Club, C.L.I.M.B., Bohemia Track Club, Northport Running Club and the Massapequa Road Runners were on hand to contribute to the success of the day. The drive was held at the Melville Marriott.

GLIRC sends a very special "thank you" to Blood Drive Chair Gina Gelman, who is most knowledgeable and competent and deserves a tremendous amount of credit for the success of this year's drive. They also extend thanks to all those who took time out to make a donation and all the volunteers on hand to make sure everything went smoothly. Additional thanks go to Mindy Davidson and the students at the Rosemary Kennedy School for their assistance with the club-wide blood drive mailing and to all who helped promote the event.

Athletes for Life Blood Drive Chair Gina Gelman and Joe Murray of Long Island Blood Services were happy with the turnout.
