On Dec. 2, the Nassau County Soccer Coaches Association (NCSCA) held its annual awards dinner at the Uniondale Marriott Hotel, to honor those Nassau County boys who achieved post-season honors for outstanding achievement in the recently completed 2003 high school boys soccer season.
Four seniors from the Farmingdale Dalers boys soccer team were on hand, along with coach Bruce Tuttleman, to receive their awards. All-Conference (Conference A-4) honors went to goalkeeper Nick DeRiso, midfielder Steve Marcus and forward Vito Messina. All-County (Class A) Honorable Mention went to forward Bryan Patterson.
At a separate event held in November, the entire Farmingdale team held its own awards dinner. The Dalers finished third in their conference with a 5-5-2 record. At this awards dinner, all the players received their Varsity letters for the season completed, as well as honoring a few individual players for their special achievements.
Defender John Dean and keeper Nick DeRiso were awarded Most Improved, tri-captains Steve Marcus and Vito Messina each received the Coaches Award and tri-captain Bryan Paterson was given the award for Most Valuable Player. Coaches Bruce Tuttleman and Scott Rollins thanked the boys and especially the departing seniors for a season well played.
