Some of the Farmingdale Swim Club members participated in the "Thanksgiving Classic" meet sponsored by the Long Island Aquatic Club. The meet was held at the Nassau County Aquatics Center at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow on Thanksgiving weekend. Members of the senior, junior and developmental teams competed in various events, according to their age group. Younger swimmers swam the AM sessions on Saturday and Sunday, while the senior swimmers swam in the evenings.

Coach Eric Hertenstein was pleased with the team's performance. It was a great opportunity for the swimmers to compete in an Olympic-size facility. Many swimmers bettered their previous times and were able to qualify for the Silvers Meet, a higher level of competition.

The Farmingdale Swim Club is open to children ages 6 through high school. Registration for the second session will be held at Farmingdale High School on Jan. 14 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
