More Graffiti Tags Appear in Farmingdale Village
When Farmingdale resident Mike Grello went out last Tuesday morning to a local bagel shop, he was disturbed to find two large hits of graffiti on the side and back of Emil's Beauty Salon, located on the north side of Main Street in the Village of Farmingdale. Grello, president of the Concerned Citizens Association of Farmingdale (CCAF), said he ran into Village Trustee Michael Kelly at the bagel shop and Kelly flagged down a police car to report the blight. Grello thought immediately that the graffiti was a gang tag, and police confirmed his concern.

Assessor-Elect Harvey Levinson Announces Transition Team and Listening Tour
Nassau County Assessor-Elect Harvey B. Levinson has formally announced his transition team after a weeklong recount of the Nov. 4 election results. Mr. Levinson also announced that he would be conducting a countywide listening tour to begin creating a dialogue with residents. The tour will include five town hall meetings throughout the county, as well as additional meetings with the Nassau County Chambers of Commerce, Nassau County Village Officials Association and the Nassau County School Superintendents Association.

Phil Varca and Columbus Lodge Support Toys for Tots Program
Members from the Columbus Lodge #2143 (CL) are hooking-up with musician Phil Varca and his SlamJammers, and the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves for the 11th Annual Toys for Tots Christmas Party to be held at the Café Oasis in Baldwin, on Friday evening December 12th. Among the attendees will be CL Treasurer Ed Bochynski, and members Rick Calabrese, 'Hippy' Tony Novarro, and Clem Sebastopoli.
