Marianne Herlinger Conneely, of New Bern, NC, formerly of Farmingdale, died on Nov. 4, 2003 at Craven Regional Medical Center, New Bern, at the age of 74.

Mrs. Conneely was born in Silesia, Germany, and lived in Salzburg, Austria, until the age of 11. After that, she lived in NYC, Farmingdale and then in New Bern until her death. Mrs. Conneely was a special education teacher - BOCES in Nassau County, belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America and St. Paul Catholic Church and was an active member of Right to Life.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James F. Conneely of the home; two sons, James F. Conneely Jr. and wife, Becky, of Richmond, KY, and John P. Conneely of Manhattan; three daughters, Mary Conneely Smit and husband, George, of Waldorf, MD, Catherine Conneely Buck and husband, Elmer, of Montgomery, PA, and Eileen Conneely Ferree and husband, Jim, of New Bern; and six grandchildren, Kevin, Erin, Matthew, Jessica, Caitlin and Andrew.
