FHS Varsity Girls Swim Team
Big swim meet today. You head to the locker room to prepare mentally and physically for the upcoming battle. As you enter the pool area, you take notice of the serenity of the water; undisturbed it resembles a large turquoise mirror. All you hear is the murmur of the water being filtered. And you focus on the huge murals on the wall: "This Is Our House." "Life Is Short - Swim Hard." It all sinks in. In a short while, water will be rockin' and the fans will be cheering the team to another victory.

The 2003 Varsity Girls Tennis season was a special one. They finished the regular season with a record of 11 wins and only one loss, enroute to the conference title, tying the school's record for best season record. The team was led by their three captains. Jill Kandora earned All County honors at first singles. She is undefeated over the past two and a half years, winning 28 matches in a row. Junior Vicki Fanslow has a streak of her own going, having won 37 matches in succession over three seasons of play. Vicki has earned All County honors at second singles. Senior Christina Yanez, along with partner junior Alyson Gordon, earned All Conference honors at first doubles.
