In celebrating eight decades of service to the Farmingdale community, the Farmingdale Public Library is planning events throughout the week of Oct. 19. The week-long activities will culminate with a Gatsby Gala Costume Dinner Dance, scheduled to take place on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 7 to 11 p.m.

Columbus Lodge Captures QBC Softball Title; Big Apple Next
On Sept. 20, the Columbus Lodge #2143 Golden Lions captured the Queens Borough Championship at Cunningham Park in Bayside, Queens. Third baseman "Reet" DiSalvo's toss to second baseman Hynoski, for the putout, sealed the 11-0 title game victory against the team from Airborn and advanced the Golden Lions into the NYC Championship round in the 8th Annual NYC Mayor's Cup Softball Tournament.

The Farmingdale Wolves boys U-12 travel soccer team's record went to 2-0 this past weekend with a solid win over the Glen Cove Scorpions. While the final score was 2-1 in favor of the Wolves, it does not adequately reflect the Farmingdale team's dominance throughout the game.
