As a Farmingdale High School parent and community support group, the Friends of Farmingdale Athletics are continuing their growth and would like to invite residents to consider becoming a member. In only four years of existence, the group has raised funds to support numerous Daler programs. Some of their accomplishments to date include:
* The installation of lights for the Don Snyder Sports Complex
* Raised funds for the soon-to-be installed scoreboards on the baseball and softball fields
* Purchasing of an auxiliary scoreboard for the high school gym
* Purchasing of 40 "Daler" chairs for the high school gym
* Purchasing of "Daler" flag flown at the Don Snyder Sports Complex
* Purchasing of "LI Championship 2002" rings for football and girls lacrosse teams
* Provided "Go Dalers" banners for the scoring table and stands
* Provided magnetic "entrance" signs for the gym doors at the high school
* Provided laminated roster cards for various varsity and JV teams
* Contributed to televising Daler football and lacrosse games at Hofstra
* Contributed to Daler Football Wall of Fame in the high school
* Funded uniforms for "Steppin' Dalers" to participate in Nassau County competition
* Weekly varsity focus on spotlight articles in the Farmingdale Observer
* Over 545 "Friends of Farmingdale Athletics" volunteered at the 2002 US Open Golf Fundraiser to help all FHS athletic programs
* Preparations are being made for FFA volunteers to work at the 2004 US Open at Shinnecock
* FFA is currently working on some projects for the swim, golf and kickline teams and the organization welcomes ideas that will support any program at the high school or middle school
The FFA asks that residents volunteer a small amount of their time but a large amount of their interests and ideas.
The FFA is reaching out to all members of the Farmingdale and neighboring communities for membership to continue the organization's support of all Farmingdale HS athletic and associated programs. They are asking for input to enhance and enrich the value of the organization. There are numerous ways to participate and the FFA asks residents to take part in the "Daler Experience" and contact them.
The FFA is a volunteer/parental support organization dedicated to the advancement of all Daler athletic and associated programs. Meetings are held monthly featuring keynote speakers with community sponsors taking part. Residents' and membership is appreciated. Any questions may be directed via e-mail to GoDalersFFA@optonline.net.
