Playing in Memory of Marc Khan
Marc Khan, the Bethpage High School senior whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal car accident earlier this year, was beloved by many. His memory lives on in Bethpage, and throughout the high school athletics scene and nothing could be more indicative of that than the turnout for the Marc Khan Memorial Volleyball Tournament held at Bethpage High School on Saturday, Aug. 9. More than 250 people, including teens from schools throughout Nassau County, and parts of Suffolk, showed up to pay tribute to Marc, and play or watch volleyball for a good cause. Marc was the captain of the Bethpage High School volleyball team.

Once Again, Golden Lions Win AFSC Championship
On Saturday, Aug. 9 high humidity, grey skies, and, eventually, rain was the setting as the Columbus Lodge #2143 Golden Lions won the 6th annual Arthritis Foundation Softball Challenge at Cantiague Park in Hicksville. The rain-shortened event was the team's first back-to-back AFSC title. All proceeds benefited the LI Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation (AF).

Farmingdale Swim Club Registration
The Farmingdale Swim Club (FSC) is holding registration on Monday, Sept. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday, Sept. 9 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Farmingdale High School pool.
