The 2003 spring season for the Farmingdale Golden Goals, a girls U-13 soccer team, was a dream come true. They had just come off a very successful fall 2002 season in which they did well enough to move up from Division 5 to Division 4. The girls were not sure what to expect in this new division and started off by tying their first game and losing their second game. However, after this rough start, the girls knew that not only did they belong in this division, but they were confident that they could do well. And "do well" they did, winning their next eight games in a row finishing with an 8-1-1 record. During this eight-game winning streak, the team scored 29 goals while giving up a stingy four. They finished the season tied for first place and have been promoted, once more, up to Division 3.

The defense was anchored by the very fine play of goalkeeper Danielle Maxwell. In front of her were the rock solid fullbacks: Katie Rocks, Alyssa Mercante and Jamie Disilvio. The two-way midfielders consisted of: Alyssa Tyson, Ashley Vitale, Nicole Sottile, Amanda Pratt, Leigha Snider, Atrita Patel and Brittany Kohlmann. Up front were the very dangerous goal scorers: Alyssa Kildare, Nicole Conway, Kelly McDonald and Stacy Hertz. Since all the girls played multiple positions, it made life much easier for the three proud coaches: Shawn Kildare, Tim Rocks and Chris Tyson. With the tremendous support from their parents and their fine trainer, Terry Vitale of Farmingdale Physical Therapy, the team is really looking forward to making their mark this fall in Division 3.
