Matthew Danowski is one of the best student-athletes on Long Island. A three-sport athlete, he has had numerous achievements in lacrosse and football. While playing lacrosse for four years at Farmingdale High School, he has broken a number of school records.
Matthew is a two-time All-American lacrosse player and was also the leader of the Gold Medal Empire State Scholastic team and a starter on the U-19 World team. In addition to lacrosse, Matt has been a starter on the varsity football team for three years. As quarterback, he has led his team to back-to-back Long Island Championship games in his junior and senior years. He is an All-County, All-Long Island and All New York State football player. A three-year starter at point guard on the varsity basketball team, he has currently led his team to the semi-finals of the Nassau County "A" playoffs. He has been selected All-Conference and All-County in basketball.
Off the field, his strongest asset is in his school/community service. He is involved in a leadership role in a number of organizations within the school, the Farmingdale community and his church. Some of his volunteer work includes Chairman of the Heart Walk, Co-chair of the Blood Drive and Special Olympics and an official for youth basketball and lacrosse leagues. In the fall, Matt will be attending Duke University on a full lacrosse scholarship.
Buddy Krumenacker has been coaching football for 21 years, 11 years at Hempstead High School and 10 years at Farmingdale High School. During his coaching career, his overall record has been 141-45-11. Coach Krumenacker has been synonymous with excellence in coaching football not only in Nassau County or throughout Long Island, but also in the Metropolitan tri-state area. He has won 14 Big Four Championships, eight Nassau County Championships, four Rutgers Cups (represents the most outstanding football team in Nassau County) and one Long Island Championship.
Buddy has also been the Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach for the past 26 years. During this span, the Dalers are 463-80, with 10 Nassau County championships and two Long Island championships.
Along with coaching, Buddy has established the John Krumenacker Memorial Golf Outing. It was established in 1999 to raise funds for John and Katie's children's education.
