  • News: Republicans Nominate Carman for 14th Legislative District

    Lifelong Farmingdale resident Gregory W. Carman has received the Republican Party nomination for legislator in the 14th Legislative District. The 14th LD encompasses the communities (or parts of) Farmingdale, North and East Massapequa, Old Bethpage, Levittown and North Wantagh. FULL STORY

  • News: Farmingdale School Budget Passes

    The Farmingdale School District Budget for the 2003-2004 school year of $106,877,608 passed by close to 500 votes on Tuesday evening. Tallies showed that 2,370 residents voted for and 1,899 voted against passing the budget. FULL STORY

  • Sports: PAL Girls Lacrosse Senior Teams Finish Successful Regular Season

    The Farmingdale PAL Spirit girls' lacrosse team finished its undefeated Long Island Senior Girls Youth Lacrosse league season with a 14-9 victory over Manhasset for their sixth victory in a weather-shortened season. Farmingdale finished first in the league's top conference. The Spirit scoring was led by two of the eighth-grade captains, Jenna Block and Kristin Jones. Block had three goals with three assists, finishing as the teams points leader, while Jones hit the back of the net five times with an assist on Kristen DiLiello's goal and finished as the team's top goal scorer. Seventh-graders Candace Rossi and Shannon Haas each had two goals to finish out great individual seasons. DiLiello had two assists to go along with her one goal and Jillian Cerar also had one goal and two assists. Tara Gangarossa and Katie Wood rounded out the day's scoring with Gangarossa having two assists and Wood one. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Hawks Offer Coaching Clinic

    On Tuesday, June 24, the Hawks will have their 5/6 and 7/8 year old mandatory coaching clinic at 7 p.m. at Gem. Any new coaches are welcome to attend especially at the 5/6 year old level where there will be three teams this year. Children can be registered that night or at the Hawk's new parent meeting Thursday, June 12 at 7 p.m. at Howitt West Cafeteria. Check the Hawks' calendar of events at www.FarmingdaleHawks.org.
