    The annual Memorial Day Parade in the Village of Farmingdale will take place this Monday, May 26 beginning at 10 a.m. The parade will gather on Thomas Powell Blvd. and Bethpage Road and proceed down Main Street to the Village Green.     The Farmingdale School District recently saluted local families whose loved ones are serving in the military. Against a backdrop of vintage fighter planes and a massive American flag at the American Air Power Museum, the Farmingdale High School Technology Honor Society took time out of its Wall of Fame induction ceremony - honoring students who excel in technology - to pay tribute to brave Dalers in the armed forces.     Webster defines volleyball as a team game played by hitting a large ball back and forth over a net with the hands. Once you have the chance to view the Farmingdale High School Daler Boys Volleyball in action, you'll notice they have taken that definition and brought it to the next level. Coach Steve Messina is at the helm of this extraordinary group of individuals. "These 13 student-athletes have grown up," commented Coach Messina. "They have matured as a team tremendously." By doing so, they have given themselves a season to be proud of. They have expanded on the theory of playing as a team and have worked hard to improve on all aspects of the game," he said. The team has been able to focus for the entire match and that has brought a great degree of success. They are able to see the whole picture and use strategies they've learned to combat any particular situation. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Farmingdale Baseball League 'Baseball Day' June 7

    The Farmingdale Baseball League (FBLI) annual Baseball Day will be held on Saturday, June 7 at Allen Park. The events start at 9 a.m. and goes throughout the day, culminating with a Managers/Coaches softball game at 8 p.m. There will be skill competitions for many of the divisions with all-star games for the older boys and girls divisions. Food will be available from Applebee's and Annabella's. There will be a giant 28' slide, carnival games, popcorn, cotton candy and Italian ices from Ralph's. FULL STORY
