Thomas J. McLaughlin, of Port St. Lucie, FL, formerly of Farmingdale, died on April 5, 2003. He was a USMC Guadalcanal veteran, formerly with the NYPD, retired from F&M Schaefer Brewing Co. and proprietor of The Driftwood Lounge. Husband of Dorothy. Father and father-in-law of Patricia and Lawrence Ballyantyne of Houston, TX, and Thomas and Lynn McLaughlin. Grandfather of five. Great-grandfather of one. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre, receiving the Bronze Star and Infantry Combat Medal. Husband of 61 years of Dorothy. Father of James (Carol Ann). He was a trombone player with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Tommy Dorsey, Charlie Spivak and Guy Lombardo. Husband of Agnes. Father and father-in-law of Frank Jr. and Suzi and Raymond and Patricia. Religious service at the funeral home. Interment Pinelawn Memorial Cemetery. Connor "Uncle Con" J. Faughnan, of East Islip, formerly of Longford, Ireland, died recently. Son of the late Charles and the late Ellen. Brother of Eugene, Michael, Matthew, Ellen Gallagher, Mary Pritchard. He was predeceased by six brothers and sisters. Patricia J. Giaccotto, of Bethpage, died on May 7, 2003. She was predeceased in 1972 by her husband Alfred. Mother of Patricia (Jack) Caccavale. Sister of Patrick Ruggiero and Mildred Bonadonna. Florence Marrinan, 93, of Lecanto, FL, formerly of Farmingdale, died on May 8, 2003. Wife of the late John T. Sister of Anne Merz. Sister-in-law of Doris Duggan and Maureen Duggan. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, additional family members and many, many friends. Florence was the fourth of nine children of Patrick and Mary Duggan. She was a teacher in the NYC School System for 50 years. She was extremely proud of all the lives she was able to touch throughout her extraordinary teaching career. In 1943 she married John T. Marrinan and they were married 24 years until his unexpected death in 1967 from a heart attack. Upon her retirement from teaching in 1982, she relocated to Florida to be near her sister, Anne and brother-in-law, John J. Merz. She continued her active pursuit of life after retirement becoming an involved parishioner of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and by actively volunteering in her community. Until a car accident in August 2002, she had lived independently in her own home in Dunnellon, Fl. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Arrangements were made by the Arthur F. White Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on May 19 at St. James RC Church in Seaford. Interment St. Charles Cemetery. Eleanor Busuttil, of Huntington Station, formerly of Bethpage, died on May 8, 2003. Former wife of Vincent. Mother of Bob and Tom. Friend and former daughter-in-law of Karen. Grandmother of Bryan, Christopher and Kevin. Arrangements were made by the Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Martin of Tours RC Church. Interment Pinelawn Memorial Park.
