Junior League Presents Grants to Local Teachers
The Junior League of the Women's Club of Farmingdale recently invited all teachers in the Farmingdale School District (excluding the high school) to participate in their annual Teachers Grant Program. This annual program allows teachers throughout the district to write a short paragraph explaining what they would like to purchase for their classroom, something that would be an asset to their teaching.

The Farmingdale Community Summit Council, Inc. is hosting the first annual Farmingdale Summit on Wednesday, April 30, at Farmingdale High School from 6:30 to 9 p.m. This event was originally planned for March 6, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

Farmingdale Youth Council Hosts 43rd Annual Physical Fitness Competition
On March 8, the Farmingdale Youth Council hosted the 43rd Annual Physical Fitness Meet at the Senior High School. Approximately 100 students in grades four through six participated in the events of sit-ups, side step, shuttle run, standing long jump, flexed arm hang (girls) and pull-ups (boys).

Columbus Lodge Charity Golf Outing Set for May 29
The Sons of Italy-Columbus Lodge #2143 Golf Committee recently announced the 7th Annual Columbus Lodge Charity Golf Outing will be on Thursday, May 29 at the Bethpage Golf Course, Home of the 2002 US Open. According to Golf Chairman Bill Iannone, the entry fee will be $130 per person and includes an 8AM-shotgun start, golf cart, continental breakfast, refreshment, snack and dinner.
