  • News: Farmingdale School Board Adopts Budget for 2003-2004

    After a series of heated budget discussions which took place in recent weeks, the Farmingdale Board of Education officially adopted its budget for the 2003-2004 school year on Tuesday evening. In addition to having their own budget discussions over the past several weeks, the board heard comments and concerns from district residents last week and fought to cut corners and, in some instances, were forced to cut programs to come up with a budget figure they felt would be acceptable to the community.   • News: DEC to Hold Public Information Session on Bethpage Community Park

    The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will hold a public information session to discuss a work plan prepared by the Northrop Grumman Corporation to investigate soil contamination at Bethpage Community Park. The session will be held at the Bethpage Community Center, 103 West Grumman Road, Bethpage on Tuesday, April 29, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Farmingdale Girls PAL News

    Last Sunday, the girls 7th grade LISGYLL Farmingdale PAL Team traveled to Northport for what would turn out to be another tough Farmingdale victory. Playing on an extremely large field, the girls really turned it up a notch. The midfield, consisting of Lauren Broton, Lauren Principato, Jessica (Rookie of the Year) Wadsworth, Jackie Gunn and Brittany Kohlmann, were relentless in their midfield transition which eventually wore the Northport girls down. The attack, led by the fine play of Julia Castaldi, Jen Troy, Lia Costanzo and Liz Edwards set up a number of Farmingdale goals, with Troy and Castaldi recording three assists. Jessica Wadsworth and Jackie Gunn led the offense with three goals each. Lauren Principato and Julia Castaldi also scored for the team in their 8-5 win. FULL STORY
