The Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society will commemorate its 39th anniversary with the annual Founders Day Dinner on Tuesday evening, April 29 at the Stuart-Thomas Manor, South Farmingdale.

The program will include a tribute to Jean Merritt Hubbard, a charter member of the society and a member of its executive board since it was organized in April 1964. Both she and her husband Andre have served as president of the FBHS. The executive board regretfully accepted Mrs. Hubbard's resignation as a trustee at a recent meeting.

Samuel U. Mitchell, retired vice-president of the Bankers Trust Corporation, and a trustee of both the Nassau County Historical Society and Friends for Long Island's Heritage, will speak at the dinner on Úquot;Challenges Facing Historical Societies Today.Úquot;

Frances Rotondo, FBHS hospitality chair, is coordinating the dinner, which begins at 6:30 p.m.

Lawrence R. Jorgensen, president of the FBHS invites area residents and especially representatives of organizations in which Jean Hubbard has served, to attend the dinner. Further information may be obtained by calling 249-3099.
