There was mud, there was now, there was ice and there was groundwater - everything needed for some of the worst conditions possible for running on the trails on Sunday morning, March 9. Notwithstanding the mess, 87 teams of three runners each showed up at Bethpage State Park to slosh and slog through two miles of trails to the new and improved finish line.

Race Director Steve Rand thanks Bob Cook of the Runner's Edge for his support.

Local businesses made it all possible, led by Bob Cook of the Runner's Edge in Farmingdale whose store on Main Street donated the special long-sleeve T-shirts that were presented to each competitor; and Kevin Arloff of Bennett Medical Supply, who was the key financial supporter of the event.
Teams from the Runner's Edge did very well in the event, scoring in third place in the Coed Open Division and taking first place honors in the Men's Masters Division. Congratulations to Relay Director Steve Rand, to volunteers coordinator Charlie Hamilton, who was anywhere and everywhere he was needed in putting all the pieces together; to Ed Melnik of the Big Finish for donating his timing services to the event; and to the Greater Long Island Running Club Men's Racing Team and Fast Feet Women's Racing Team for all their help and support.
