The Farmingdale Community Summit Council, Inc. is hosting the first annual Farmingdale Summit on Thursday, March 6 at Farmingdale High School from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The event, entitled "Farmingdale - A Community of Opportunity," will feature an Expo Hall, Health Fair, Town Hall Meeting with elected officials, food and entertainment. There is no admission fee and door prizes and promotional materials will be distributed.
The centerpiece of the event is the Expo Hall and Health Fair, which will give those who attend the Summit an opportunity to learn more about all of the service organizations and merchants in the Farmingdale area. More than 30 exhibitors have reserved tables at the Expo. Likewise, the Health Fair will present more than 30 exhibitors, who will be providing information, demonstrations and screenings. The exhibitors include local hospitals, doctors and nutrition and wellness providers.
Child-care will be available and those attending the Summit will also be able to: attain a library card, return overdue books with amnesty, register to vote, sign up for local sports leagues, have their blood pressure taken, have their eyes checked, learn about Automatic Electronic Defibrillators and much, much more. All residents are invited to come experience "Farmingdale - A Community of Opportunity."
The Summit is being presented by the Farmingdale Community Summit Council, Inc., which has presented "Farmingdale Reads," "Farmingdale Respects," and is in the process of having a "Farmingdale Remembers" monument erected at the library. For more information, please call 454-0021.
