Board Discusses Staffing Issues, Addresses Concerns Regarding Sixth Grade Move to Howitt
The Farmingdale Board of Education recently held a special meeting and a regular meeting regarding, among other issues, staffing concerns at Howitt Middle School once the sixth-grade class moves into the building in September. At both meetings, residents and district employees were on hand to offer suggestions and pleas regarding the issues at hand, which, in addition to middle school staffing, also included administration at Woodward Parkway and Farmingdale High School.

Hawks Cheerleaders Celebrate Best Year Ever
The Farmingdale Hawks cheerleaders celebrated the completion of their 41 season with a tremendous dinner for 375 people last Friday at the Stuart Thomas Manor. The girls finished their season a part of the best cheerleading organization on Long Island. Not only did most of the girls teams finish first on Long Island, all of them placed in competitions and countless speakers kept commenting how each group of girls had a great time and learned the benefits of hard work and teamwork. The organization and parents are very proud of the girls.

Lodge Membership Backs Ragno for Second Term
The Sons of Italy-Columbus Lodge #2143 Nominating Committee chairman Paul Calissi announced, at a recent meeting, that current President Anthony Ragno has been selected by the committee as their choice to return for a second term as president of the lodge. The selection of Ragno was unopposed by the membership.
