'Farmingdale Jumps' Into 2003
Before a gymnasium packed with exuberant and adoring fans, the Farmingdale Tornadoes took the court at Farmingdale High School to face the world-renowned Harlem Wizards for "Farmingdale Jumps," an evening of athletic amusement sponsored by the Farmingdale Community Summit Council. The Tornadoes proved worthy of their community's support, nor did the Wizards disappoint. With slam dunks, trick passing, thumping music and a whole lot of humor, the pros wowed and dazzled Dalers.

Labriola Seeks Passage of Bill on Civil Confinement for Sex Offenders
State Assemblyman Steven Labriola was joined on Jan. 21 by local law enforcement officials and advocates of victims of sex crimes in urging the state legislature to pass a bill this session calling for civil confinement of sexually violent predators.

Farmingdale's Bob Cook Receives Friendship Games Service Award
Farmingdale's own Bob Cook recently received a special service award from the organizers of the annual Friendship Games in recognition of his generous support for running and other athletic programs, with special emphasis on all that he has done for Nassau County high school track and cross country programs. The award was presented at the Jan. 19 finale of the Friendship Games at Nassau Community College.

Titans Celebrate End of Season With Spirit Awards Night
The Farmingdale Titans Youth Football and Cheerleading celebrated the 2002 season with their Spirit Awards Night held at the Stuart Thomas Manor on Jan. 24. More than 320 children, parents and friends attended the celebration and helped applaud the football players and cheerleaders as they received their trophies and medals recognizing their efforts and sportsmanship during the 2002 season.
