Farmingdale Riptide, coached by Ray Sherman and Luigi Cardillo, took first place in the LIJ Soccer U-16 Division 2, posting a 7-2 record. The Riptide players demonstrated good team play, hard work and gave it their best effort every Sunday. Their efforts propelled them to beat the top teams in their Division 2 bracket. Keeping with tradition, the Riptide defense led by Mike Hillier, Brian Eyester, Billy Hickling and Andrew Kromholz was a force to be reckoned with. The team posted three shutouts and allowed only 1.2 goals per game. The team offense raised their game to a higher level this season with the addition of hard working striker, Keith Viscuse. The Riptide offense played consistently all season generating many opportunities and scored timely goals to put games in the win column. The team scored just under three goals per game. Great team effort to all the Riptide players on both sides of the ball, defense and offense. Thanks to all the parents for their constant positive and enthusiastic support every Sunday.
