Leo J. Morgan, Postmaster of Farmingdale from 1956 to 1972, died on Dec. 31, 2002 in Clearwater, FL at age 86. He retired in 1972 and moved to Florida in 1979 with his wife Honey who predeceased him in 1991. During his retirement he owned and operated a small woodworking business and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

Mr. Morgan was a native of Boston, MA, and moved to Farmingdale in 1942. He served as postmaster during the period of its greatest growth and the building which now stands was constructed during his term. He was also active in community affairs having served as financial chairman of the March of Dimes, the Boy Scouts, the United Fund and the Cancer Drive.

He is survived by twin daughters, Pamela of Riverhead and Patricia of Tuckahoe, NY; a son Brian of Merrick; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Jeffrey; and two stepchildren, Violet of Holiday, FL, and Charles of Oakland, ME. A service was held in Clearwater.

Mildred May Kellerman, of Farmingdale, died on Jan. 3, 2003. Mother of Ellen Dawson, Janice DeLeo and Frankie Kellerman. Grandmother of Michelle and Kristin DeLeo and Justin Dawson. Sister of Buddy Sherrard, Minnie O'Connor and Louie Sherrard. Private cremation services were entrusted to the Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Memorial service at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Irene P. Schreiber, of Brentwood, died on Jan. 4, 2003. She was a retired secretary in the Hauppauge S.D. Wife of Paul. Mother and mother-in-law of Paul Jr. and Claudia and Kristy Lynn. Daughter of Uldine Stippel and the late John. Sister of Allen, John and Deborah Brigandi. Arrangements were made by the McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home, Farmingdale. Funeral Mass at St. Matthew's RC Church. Interment St. Charles Cemetery. Michael Donald Farina, age 7, died on Jan. 4, 2003, after a long battle with cancer. Beloved son of Richard and Mary. Loving brother of Richard and Joseph, Courtney and Danielle Pesa. Cherished grandson of Donald and Marie Alverson and the late Eleanor and Joseph Farina. Frances C. Bower, of Massapequa, died on Jan. 5, 2003. Wife of the late John. Mother of Myrna Fischer and Richard Bower. Also survived by many other family members and friends. Schrader died on Jan. 6, 2003, at the age of 93. She was predeceased in 1943 by her husband Alfred. Mother of Alfred and William. Grandmother of five. Great-grandmother of 10. Dorothy Wilkins, of West Islip, formerly of Farmingdale, died on Jan. 6, 2003. Wife of the late Douglas. Mother of Lois Koluroumousis, Wayne and Donald. Sister of May Lowis. Interment Calverton National Cemetery. Anna Lohner, of Visalia, CA, formerly of Bethpage, died on Jan. 7, 2003, in her 100th year. She was predeceased in 1968 by her husband, Emil. Mother of Irene T. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery. Dorothy Travers, of Plainview, died on Jan. 12, 2003. She was predeceased by her husband John. Mother and mother-in-law of John and Deena and Thomas and Laura. Errico (nee Briscoe), of Lindenhurst, formerly of Bethpage, died suddenly in her 49th year on Jan. 12, 2003. Wife for 24 years of Alan. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Grace Briscoe. Sister of Carol Carpentiere, Anne Cunningham, Kathy Hart and Diane Fowler. Also survived by 12 nieces and nephews. Godmother of Megan and Patrick. Arrangements were made by the Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Prayer service at the funeral home. Cremation private.
