The Hawks 8-year-olds traveled to Brentwood to play in their annual Turkey Bowl game. The Hawks started with the ball, but couldn't move the ball until Tori Penn took an end-around and went 60 yards for the first score. The Hawks tried for a two-point conversion by Casey Gordon, with Tyler Ward holding. The kick was perfect and the score was 8-0. Brentwood came back and scored two touchdowns and kicked one two-point conversion to take a 14-8 halftime lead.
The Hawk defense came out strong in the second half, led by Penn, who made 10 tackles. Tommy Scrimo recovered a fumble for the Hawks and also made three tackles. The biggest defensive stand came when Brentwood had the ball at the Hawk goal line with a first down. The Hawks held for all four downs and couldn't be denied from then on. Runs by Rocky Santopadre, who totaled 19 yards, Ward, 22 yards and a big first down by Kyle Radtke, moved the ball down the field. Penn finished the drive with a 55-yard touchdown run. Casey Gordon again added the 2-point conversion with Ward holding. The score was now 16-14 in favor of the Hawks. The defense again held off Brentwood with the help of Shane Mclune, Ronnie Krammer, Justin Shrank, Nicholas Rivera, James Sunde, Peter Fitzgerald, Dayron Wellington and Scott Manning.
The offense took over, led by the blocking of Matt Edgeworth, Joey Woodland, Chris Pochat, Matt Costello and Robet Brienza. The Hawks moved the ball again and on a quarterback sneak, Radtke ran 21 yards for the final score. Penn had an outstanding game with 155 yards rushing.
