Columbus Lodge Italian Feast and Festival a Success
The Sons of Italy - Columbus Lodge #2143 hosted its Sixth Annual Italian Feast and Festival last weekend in North Massapequa. The festival, which featured a variety of enjoyable activities for the community all with an Italian atmosphere, was presented by the Lodge in conjunction with the Town of Oyster Bay.

Governor Pataki Announces New State Park on Long Island
Governor George Pataki held a ceremony on Saturday to announce the creation of the new Trail View State Park - Long Island's newest state park, which is located along the Old Bethpage Parkway right-of-way in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The dedication ceremony took place where the property crosses Jericho Turnpike just west of Woodbury Road.

Farmingdale Hawks 7-Year-Old (A) Team Wins Its Second Game in a Row
The Farmingdale Hawks (A) team played a hard-fought football game this past Sunday against the Farmingdale Hawks 7-year-old (B) team. The game opened up with a change of possessions. In the first half Farmingdale (A) scored to put them up 6-0. They were unable to convert the extra point. This made the score at halftime 6-0.

Third Annual Sleepy Hollow 5K Run
On Sunday Oct. 20 the Carman Foundation for Children will host it's 3rd Annual Sleepy Hollow 5K Run in the Massapequa Preserve. The event begins at 10 a.m. at the Ames Lockhart School on Pittsburgh Avenue, just east of Broadway in Massapequa. The proceeds of the event go to the Hagadorn Little Village School which recently relocated to the former site of the Massapequa General Hospital on Hicksville Road.
