Oyster Bay Town Receiver of Taxes James Stefanich reminds Town of Oyster Bay's 100,000 property owners, that their new full market tax assessment information is available on the Internet. The Nassau County Reassessment Project has formulated new assessment values and made them available on their website, www.mynassauproperty.com.
Stefanich noted that the tentative values contained on the site have not been finalized. Each property record contains information about the building footprint, square footage, number and type of rooms, heating and cooling systems, additional structures on the property, and an estimate of land and buildings current sale values. The new assessment values will be used to determine the 2003-2004 School and 2004 General taxes.
The Nassau County Assessor, Charles O'Shea and his contracted agent, Cole Layer Trumble (CLT), are maintaining the information on the Web. Receiver Stefanich encourages Oyster Bay residents to contact the Assessor or CLT if you believe information associated with your property is incorrect or missing. CTL can be reached at 516-873-9701.
Stefanich noted, "Modern technology has been introduced into Nassau County to help its residents obtain easy access to information that determines how their taxes will be calculated. Taxpayers can verify data that determines their fair share of costs for providing education, public safety, and essential community services".
