Ronald G. Hoerner, 58, of Massapequa Park, a retired NYS Police Investigator, died tragically on Sept. 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center. Shortly after retirement from the NYS Police in 1994, Ron joined Summit Security Systems, Inc. In 1996, he became resident manager of security as the World Trade Center. On Sept. 11, Ron was assisting the Port Authority with evacuation plans as well as aiding numerous individuals to safety when he perished in the South Tower. He is dearly missed by his wife, Barbara; parents, Marie and Robert; stepdaughters, Tracey DeTommaso, Jill Thornton and Christie Phelan; and seven grandchildren. Joseph T. Bonanno, of Bellmore, formerly of Brooklyn, died on Aug. 14, 2002. Husband of the late Rose. Father of Pauline, Joseph and Vita. Father-in-law of Debbie and Will. Brother of Angie DeVito, Danny Bonnano and Joanne Ballish. Grandfather of Tiffany, Christina, Joseph, Christopher, Jessica, Jazlyn and Jillian. Joshua Charles Maul, 24, died suddenly on Aug. 15, 2002. Residing in NYC, his previous residence was Eastport. Beloved and very special son of David G. and Linda M. Maul.
