National Night Out Against Crime Held in Farmingdale
Officers from the Nassau County Police Department's Eighth Precinct's POP (Problem Oriented Policing) Unit, in conjunction with the Concerned Citizens Association of Farmingdale (CCAF), hosted a National Night Out Against Crime on Aug. 6, in an effort to increase and strengthen community and police relations and to discuss various problems in the Farmingdale area.

Farmingdale Music Educator Retires
When a longtime job holder steps down from his or her position, one often wonders what kept them there so long, what they plan to do now and if they have fond memories of their place of work. Such is the case with Brad Demilo. After serving the music department of the Farmingdale School District since 1964, he has outstayed many of his colleagues and administrators. One could say that many people in the school district literally couldn't imagine Farmingdale without Demilo's musical influence.

Bud Harrelson to Receive Gil Hodges Community Service Award
Bud Harrelson, a member of the 1969 World Champion New York Mets, managed by Gil Hodges, has been selected to receive Winning Beyond Winning's Gil Hodges Community Service Award. The award will be presented by Joan Hodges, widow of the legendary Brooklyn Dodger first baseman and Mets manager, at WBW's Fifth Annual Dinner, on Nov. 21, at the Chateau Briand in Westbury.
