The Farmingdale Titans, a girl's U-10 team, went 5-1 over Memorial Day Weekend in the Commack Soccer Tournament. The girls were playing in the top flight against some of Long Island's best teams.

In their first game the team played Deer Park and controlled the ball from the first whistle. They scored two goals in the first half to set the pace for the game and in the second half they worked on some different formations while finishing with a 4-1 win.

In their second game the Titans faced a tough opponent in East Islip, currently in 1st place in Suffolk Division 1, in all aspects of the game. East Islip scored a goal midway through the first half, which would turn out to be the game winner. Throughout the whole game Farmingdale applied pressure and created many scoring opportunities, but were unable to finish. The Titans lost their only game of the tournament 1-0 and they lost more than just the game. In the first half Kayla Mueger was knocked down and broke three fingers on her left hand. Despite the injury, Kayla played the whole game. At the beginning of the second half, Lisa Campbell collided with the East Islip goalie and broke her right wrist and was rushed to the hospital during the game. Both these breaks came a day after the Titans learned they lost Vanessa Amezquita for the rest of the season due to a foot injury.

On Sunday, the Titans faced an uphill battle with several key players hurt and two tough games ahead of them to qualify for Monday's playoffs. With the help of two guest players, ahead of them to qualify for Monday's playoffs. With the help of two guest players, Kelly McPartland and Jessica Venturino, the Titans were ready for battle. In their first game they played the first place team from the other division, Levittown. The game started out beautifully for the Titans scoring two first half goals going into halftime. Unfortunately, the Titans had a first half letdown with 10 seconds in the half and allowed Levittown to score a goal. The Titans missed several opportunities in the second half and the feisty Levittown never gave up and tied the score at 2. The game ended in a 2-2 tie and went to penalty kicks to see who advanced to the finals. The Titans won the shoot out on the sixth kicker and advanced to the finals to meet the East Islip squad again. As the heat of the day increased, so did the Titan intensity!
