Village Announces Road Closings During Week of US Open
With the start of the much anticipated US Open just around the corner, many local residents have been anxious regarding local road closings and limited accessibility around the community. The Village of Farmingdale has sent all residents in Farmingdale a helpful guide which will help residents move about the village while the event is held at Bethpage State Park from Monday, June 10 through Sunday, June 16.

Farmingdale Hurricanes Take First Place
The Farmingdale Girls Under 11 Travel Team played in the Massapequa Memorial Day Tournament this past weekend and took first place. The team's record was 3 wins and 2 ties. They were the only undefeated team in their division. The goal keeping played by Mackenzie Porter and Lauren Maksym was stingy with 3 shutouts and only 3 goals scored against. Goals were scored by Natalie Amato, Joan Buczkowski, Jillian Gemma, Arielle Hornedo, and Shea Macognone. This victory was a true team effort with the defense controlled by Danielle Chieffo, Stacy Leckawicz, Lauren Maksym, and Morgan Preziosi. Jillian Gemma, Brianna Lively, and Kaitlyn Pignataro shared the center half-back and sweeper duties and controlled the middle. The outside halfbacks and forwards had numerous shots on goal and assists. The offense consisted of Natalie Amato, Joan Buczkowski, Valerie Campbell, Ann Marie Charno, Arielle Hornedo, Shea Macagnone, Jackie Moraitis, and Jamie McPartland. Jackie Mazza was unable to play in this tournament due to family commitments.

Farmingdale Titans Win First Place at Commack Memorial Day Tournament
The Farmingdale Titans, a girl's U-10 team, went 5-1 over Memorial Day Weekend in the Commack Soccer Tournament. The girls were playing in the top flight against some of Long Island's best teams.
