The Farmingdale Girls Under 11 Travel Team played in the Massapequa Memorial Day Tournament this past weekend and took first place. The team's record was 3 wins and 2 ties. They were the only undefeated team in their division. The goal keeping played by Mackenzie Porter and Lauren Maksym was stingy with 3 shutouts and only 3 goals scored against. Goals were scored by Natalie Amato, Joan Buczkowski, Jillian Gemma, Arielle Hornedo, and Shea Macognone. This victory was a true team effort with the defense controlled by Danielle Chieffo, Stacy Leckawicz, Lauren Maksym, and Morgan Preziosi. Jillian Gemma, Brianna Lively, and Kaitlyn Pignataro shared the center half-back and sweeper duties and controlled the middle. The outside halfbacks and forwards had numerous shots on goal and assists. The offense consisted of Natalie Amato, Joan Buczkowski, Valerie Campbell, Ann Marie Charno, Arielle Hornedo, Shea Macagnone, Jackie Moraitis, and Jamie McPartland. The Farmingdale Titans, a girl's U-10 team, went 5-1 over Memorial Day Weekend in the Commack Soccer Tournament. The girls were playing in the top flight against some of Long Island's best teams. FULL STORY
