  • News: Lindbergh Flight Recreated in Celebration of 75th Anniversary

    On May 20, the 75th anniversary of the famous flight Charles A. Lindbergh took from Roosevelt Field to Paris in 1927 was recreated at Farmingdale's Republic Airport. Just a few weeks prior, a crowd of approximately 250 spectators, including students from Howitt Middle School's Junior Honor Society, gathered at Republic Airport to watch Lindbergh's grandson Erik recreate the flight.   • News: American Legion Seeks Members for Farmingdale Post

    The American Legion is continuing to seek local veterans interested in joining a new Farmingdale American Legion Post. The community once had a post in Farmingdale several years ago but after membership started to diminish, the post was closed. According to Nassau County Commander John Marino, the American Legion decided to try to start a new post in Farmingdale after speaking to some local veterans who expressed an interest. He noted that the post will not be limited to residents of just Farmingdale, that it invites veterans of neighboring and distant communities to join as well. Marino said that the legion has received interest from residents in Farmingdale, Massapequa, Bellmore and Amityville and hopes to continue to receive more interest in a new post. FULL STORY

    The Farmingdale eighth-grade Conference A team defeated Garden City 15-7 to remain undefeated at 7-0. Farmingdale pressured Garden City all over the field, forcing Garden City into some costly mistakes. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Farmingdale Titans Make It to State Cup Semifinals

    This past Sunday, May 19, the Farmingdale Titans, a girls' U-10 travel team, played the Scarsdale Raiders in the quarterfinals of the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association State Cup. The Titans beat the Raiders 2-0, allowing them to proceed in the tournament. The Titans have made it further along in the state cup competition than any Farmingdale girls' travel team in the "open" division. The "open" division is open to all teams in an age bracket. However, all division 1 and 2 teams must compete in the "open" division. FULL STORY
