Local Residents Inducted into FHS Wall of Fame
Three local residents were honored for their inclusion on the Farmingdale High School Wall of Fame last week during an induction ceremony at the high school's lecture hall. Wall of Fame committee members selected Chief Peter J. Ganci Jr., Arthur Kranz and Frank Nocerino to be the honorees this year.

School Board Holds Budget Hearing
The Farmingdale Board of Education and administration held a required public hearing on Tuesday regarding the proposed 2002-2003 school budget. The budget, on which residents will vote next Tuesday, May 21, represents an approximate 7.85 percent increase from the current budget, mainly due to a lack of state aid.

Golden Lions Navigate a 10-9 Victory
Sons of Italy-Columbus Lodge #213 member Anthony ("Hippie Tony") Novarro, manager of the Sunday morning "pick-up" game program, has been enthusiastic about the softball games. "We're having fun," said Novarro. For the past few weeks, members from the local lodge have met at Woodard Parkway Elementary School for batting and fielding practice. The workouts have been followed by pick-up games.

Green Machine Continues Winning Streak
Amid harsh weather, the Farmingdale PAL third grade Green boy's Lacrosse Team (Green Machine) continued its winning season beating North Shore 6-2, making the Green Machine 5-0. This game will go down in history as the Mother's Day Mud Bowl.
