The Farmingdale PAL eighth-grade girls lacrosse team won their fourth straight game 9-8. In an exciting game, Farmingdale dominated but ran into a hot RVC goalie. Their goalie stopped 35 shots.

The first half, Farmingdale came out strong, but hit the goal post in the first three minutes. Finally Michelle Maier was unable to put her first of four goals by the RVC goalie. Maier scored two more goals, putting Farmingdale up 3-0. RVC then scored two goals, keeping the game close at 3-2. Katie Dorso put Farmingdale ahead 4-2, with her first of three goals. Michelle Maier then scored her fourth goal making it 5-2. Ali Lauterborn scored on a fine pass from Kristine Pullen, putting Farmingdale ahead 6-2. Kian Lyons was playing great defense, when a RVC player dropped the ball. Kian scoped it up, blowing by the RVC defenders, scoring a goal, making it 7-2. It looked like Farmingdale was going to have an easy day. But the second half proved to be a real test for the Farmingdale team.

RVC proved to be a worthy opponent, starting the second half strong, scoring the first four goals, tying the game at 7. Farmingdale had their chances with Kim Miller, Michelle Maier, Ali Lauterborn, Courtney Cullen, and Kari Rotkin, combining with a total of 22 shots in the second half alone. The RVC goalie was unbeatable until Katie Dorso raced in and fired a bullet past the hot goalie. One minute later, Dorso took a pass from Kim Miller, scoring her second of the half putting Farmingdale ahead 9-7. Terri-Ann Beier then scored what appeared to be the clincher, except it was disallowed because of a Farmingdale penalty. RVC then scored making it 9-8 with a minute and a half to go. RVC had a chance to tie the game with a minute to go when Megan Hardgrove made a tremendous save, and Erica-Masci scooped up the ball and passed it to Ali Lauterborn who raced up the field. After the RVC goalie stopped her at point blank, RVC had one last chance to go up the field. Kim Miller scooped up an errant pass preserving the Farmingdale win.

Although the score was close, Farmingdale did dominate the game, both offensively and defensively. The defense made big plays throughout the game. Led by Denise Mulhall, Erica Masci, Maggie Grubb, Nicole Juray, and Kian Lyons. They did a great job sliding to the ball and picking up loose balls around the net. Also contributing on offense with a lot of hustle and good ball movement were Kristine Pullen, Ryann Quinn and Sam Petro. When the pressure was on in the end, Megan Hardgrove was at her best. She turned away three potentially tying goals away in the final minutes to keep Farmingdale unbeaten and ahead in their conference.

The fifth grade PAL girls kept their record perfect so far this season by winning an exciting game against Point Lookout by a score of 8-7. As always the fifth graders had excellent goalkeeping by Emily Fugarazzo and Lauren Maksym, who turned away numerous shots late in the game to preserve the victory.

Farmingdale's combined seventh and eighth-grade PAL girls lacrosse team lost a very close game against an evenly matched Garden City team 10-8 in a slightly shortened game. The back and forth game ended with a minute and a half to go after a disagreement concerning a field call between the Farmingdale coaches and an official. Farmingdale was mounting a strong offensive comeback when the game was prematurely ended. Both coaching staffs believed the game should have continued, but nevertheless it was stopped.

Farmingdale's scoring was led by Jenna Block, Jillian Cerar, and Katie Moloney who each scored two goals. The rest of the offensive team, consisting of Silvia Megalaa, Kerri-Ann McCarthy, Kiera Murphy and Nicole Prechtl, played an extremely strong game. The defense also played a very good game against this tough and highly competitive Garden City team. The Farmingdale defense was led by Melissa Crow, Erin Forstrom, Brittany White, and Kate and Mary Orabona. Goalkeeper Brenna Dugan had another great game defending the Farmingdale net. Stephanie Butler, Patricia Draghi, Amanda Dorsey and Margaret Wheeler were unavailable for the game.
